I was out riding my bicycle in the early morning hours again. It’s a great workout time. The sunrise is spectacular and new every morning. My mind gets a chance to clear itself for the busy day ahead.
But each driveway and intersection is a danger zone as morning commuters try to drive their cars, drink their coffee and talk on their cell phones. Something has to give. Usually, they give up their attention to cyclers who are crossing a cross walk. They are looking for cars and a gap to slip into traffic.
So, I slam on my brakes, yell a blessing at them, and remember that every car out on the road is trying to run over a biker trying to stay fit.

Cool website–I’m going to have to set myself up with one of these. That’s cool that you’re riding your bike. Dustin and I are trying to use ours more. We’ll be sure to remember you words of wisdom next time we’re out riding.
Love ya, Kristin

I have the cutest pink bike with two baskets that we brought back from Japan. I mainly use it for trips to the farmer’s market but now that I know what I am missing in those wee hours, I may get myself up and out earlier! Thanks for the inspiration!
